I respectfully disagree. "Forum Culture" with its notable identities whose reputation is an incentive to uphold their posting high quality is magnitudes more fascinating than "social media tradition" the place ironic memers don't have any connection to the board they submit on besides what dopamine they can extract within the from of (You)s with the least XXX Porn Tube effort.

Probably as a result of again within the day even individuals on boards or some other site with usernames had been still kind of anonymous. Almost no one was associating their real id with their web exercise. Now that that is altering I feel many 4chan users felt greater pressure to keep away from the change and demand hardcore anonymity. It's kind of just like how "lol" fell out of use for some time. It's extra accepted again today but there was a interval in our history where you would be known as a normalfag for utilizing "lol" and it is as a result of the rise of cellphones made it a commonly used thing. Now that almost all telephones use auto correction your common individual is not utilizing many accronyms anymore I all the time found it a bit sad, however it appears 4chan does like to alter itself just to be different from the mainstream. I assume in some methods it's a good factor and some ways it is not

That simply actually isn't true. There have been definitely obnoxious personalities who have been hated due to their faggotry, but it surely wasn't like they were hated as a result of they used a name, it was as a result of they used a reputation and acted like total shitheads. Obviously 4chan isn't one particular person, however in early 4chan there was a distinct lack of basic consensus, like there's at present, that 'namefagging' was reprehensible in principle.

And I might even argue that it wasn't until around 2011/2012 that the fixed drumbeat of pressured anonymity actually took hold of 4chan and absolutely solidified censure against namefags. Up until that time many boards nonetheless had a fairly lively neighborhood of namefags, a lot of whom were tolerated, accepted and even seen favorably by a substantial part of the board (considering of /mu/, /x/, /a/, /r9k/, /v/ and /sp/ around that point in particular).

Times change. But one thing is fairly clear, they weren't very self-essential again then in any respect. That is what I believe folks miss about it. Not because of the content or something it is just that "roll with the punches" perspective and the way laid back it actually was, as compared to at present where every single put up is scanned and judged for a way well it matches pre-outlined patterns whether for good or dangerous. I don't even use reddit however I can't help but notice that 4chan's self analytic and judgemental attitudes these days appear pretty much like the setting I would count on to type round voting techniques like karma. Given the two, I think it is fairly apparent why outdated 4chan was the backbone of internet humor in its day. Things can't develop very nicely in inflexible self analytic communities.

Tripfag and tripcode user had been different things again then. We hated tripfags simply as much back then as we do now. Most people used names or trips. This is a truth. What isn't a reality is most of them were tripfags. Most of them have been normal average those who came from forums to right here and put names or trips on eventually. A small minority of them had been the eye-whoring cunts out to make a name for themselves. Trip-cracking was a daily enjoyable thread we had that cracked peoples trips, which made tripfags particularly mad when it occurred. They eventually began transitioning over to safe tripcodes, which is where the banner "secure tripcodes are for jerks" got here from. Also, Forced Anon on /b/ was the start of the top of this websites precise neighborhood and transition to the shitty meme content material site that it is right now. Equally the everlasting elimination of snacks, the one ballsy enough to inform moot to get fucked together with his silly guidelines. snacks banned weebs, attention whores, gaiafags, raid fags and so forth. Without him at the helm and the nameless hivemind raid faggots from FYAD, the entire site dropped forty IQ factors in half a yr. Fuck you menchi, weeb cunt. Fuck you as nicely moot for listening to him. Anonymous Discussion isn't even used on Japanese boards, each the main ones have pressured IDs globally. (nicely, one makes use of 3 IP octets final I checked, which is extra like /int/ flag tier id)

I feel it was just one other FGSFDS to be honest. Everyone knew who moot was that wasn't a dumb newfag /b/tard. He went to conventions for fucking years earlier than that video was posted round. He was pretty much simply trolling them for enjoyable, like most of us did. It was always fun ruining their raids upfront and seeing them get so rectally ravaged.

Here's an side of the anonymity dialogue current customers of 4chan do not know of (save for /bant/ because most users are both too old or too new to be anonymity activists): For any group or individual, identity is essential, just by the truth that humans are people and not a hivemind. Forums and other pseudonym-sure communication kinds very clearly present a manner to maintain identity. But nameless boards should not an reverse to this, somewhat a special strategy to identity. On imageboards, id manifests in the form of memes, inside jokes and unspoken requirements and guidelines. As a type of group id, when somebody posts anonymously on 4chan they are not abandoning their id but moderately adopting the id of Anonymous and a 4chan consumer. On a forum you may have member-since dates, perks, put up counters and so on. On an imageboard you could have filename timestamps, typing types, tripcodes and memes. They're all constructs constructed to help folks acknowledge neighborhood members and inform them other than newbies. Remarkable is that the anonboard specific constructs are principally born out of intuition with no software program being purposefully written to fill the necessity. Imageboard identity develops completely naturally. Also word that if a meme's goal is to let people who realize it recognize one another purely on natural intuition it follows that when a meme goes 'mainstream' the original group related to it ought to no longer value the meme, but also needs to have no logical purpose as to why. This is exactly what occurs, and the one logical motive most may give is that mainstream memes are shit because they're mainstream and subsequently shit. And eventually: Identity creates reminiscence. When folks can acknowledge one another, they know one another's levels of investment, information and expertise in given discussion topics. They may also type ideas of who to and to not belief or listen to. They will know folks's motives and ideologies. And all of this will serve discussion, if you've got been on any board right here that's lacking in identity in both or both board- or individual phrases you will know how completely unproductive they are. The same threads are repeated every day by the same people with out nobody realizing they've argued about the identical factor together for years. No one is assumed to know the fundamentals of anything, so discusssion never rises above that level of sophistication. Now I'm not saying that forum-style identity was higher in any way, it carries it is problems too. I'm saying that id (be it group identity or idividual identification) is essential for a base line of debate and that at present most of 4chan has none. The ultimate crimson pill about identity on imageboards is that id is content material and content material is identification.

There is a purpose for that. Within the early days Moot was mainly another consumer, a tripfag with particular honors, back then 4chan was small and hadn't really solidified it is identity, I would not count that period. But then, as you possibly can probably see from a few of the later screenshots, he was nonetheless a comparatively energetic member. Even after the location grew too massive for him to tripfag (because of his mere presence derailing threads), he still tried to speak and discuss points with the userbase using occasions, and tried to be as clear as possible when it got here to things like moderation, board issues, and so forth. During this very approximate era, from, say, 2007-2011, Moot was typically effectively beloved. If you wish to pin specific dates to this very vaguely outlined era, I suggest Project Chanology as the start, when 4chan exploded into mass-media the first time and it is userbase rapidly grew, and Moot deleting /r9k/ in January 2011 as the end, as a result of "he did not like the neighborhood". Over the years after that, Moot grew extra distant towards 4chan, in part at the least resulting from real life taking over an increasing number of of his time, and he started to implement extra in poor health-advised and aggressive insurance policies with no or extraordinarily little transparency. For many customers he was eroding the nice-will he had constructed up through the years, and that continued till he ultimately sold the location and moved on. Hiro/Mootwo isn't perfect, and i actually do not belief him to not have ulterior motives, however for the time he's been in cost (which, let's face it, must be like herding tens of millions of cats) he is finished a better job than Moot did in the direction of the top. Where late Moot would have drawn a hard line and enforced it at the cost of the neighborhood and site as a whole, Hiro is more compromising and prepared to see eye-to-eye. A superb current instance is /v/ and NeoGAF, should you go to /v/ Hiro has put up a sticky stating they're making a temporary exception in terms of politics, because NeoGAF is so carefully tied to videogames.

I may kind of perceive that if his actions have been focused at particular trouble-children, like /b/ and /pol/. He did attempt to shoo away Gamergate when that happened, however his later actions as a complete appear scattershot at greatest. /r9k/ as I mentioned, the crackdown on furries and bronies, and so forth.

Control characters stem from a time when it was unthinkable that any but the American language can be used for computing and ANSI was the only character set obtainable. Nowadays the biggest obstacle to inter-regional communication has been solved with unicode (and if you would like unicode defined, Computerphile did a video with Tom Scott a long time ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MijmeoH9LT4). The thing most people do not understand, nevertheless, is that the OS and font still has to have unicode assist and protection respectively to properly show unicode character, so the reason why you are typically seeing characters which do not look right or seem as unprinted characters (not unprintable, but as rectangular cursor-like blocks) is most likely as a result of your font doesn't help those characters. If a language has a special writing path (as many do), it is typically useful to make use of control characters to have it format properly, nevertheless it relies upon solely on where the textual content is handled, but as the above outlines, it isn't related to having it show the precise characters themselves. The only actual drawback is that unicode is ever-expanding and no font has yet achieved 100% coverage, but that's another point - for regular communication on the internet, the font called dejavu and its variants (serif, sans serif and monospaced) is more than adequate.

I actually do marvel about that, as a result of I remember going to the guro boards on Ayashii within the later 90s and later Amezou and Nameless World before I found SA and RH (which might later lead me to 4chan), and I do not remember that there have been nameless posters, as such - aside from one which board the identify of which escapes me but which I vaguely remember which enforced nameless (like trendy-day /b/), the remainder had people using names on a regular basis (although I doubt tripcodes have been used then, they might've come later as a way to verify identification (earlier than they became potential to bruteforce in a matter of some days for a 8-character tripcode or weeks for a 12 character tripcode).. Mind you, I'm going off reminiscences that might get a drivers license and drink in most states, so I is likely to be mis-remembering stuff.

The porn is not the problem. Gays aren't the issue either. Both are threads of EXPRESSION, which is important for /b/ to live. The issue is twofold: 1) Pro-Censorship teams who suppose they should complain about thread content they personally disapprove of. They came from social media publicity and they assume as a result of 9gag and Redshit and Facebook customize their content material and experience, that 4chan should too. FUCK them and if you're considered one of them FUCK YOU. This is a COLLECTIVE, not your private page. 2) More recently, the most cancers destroying this site is the all of the planted /pol/ subhumans and Russian/Macedonia shills we've got here. All of the braindead retards posting from scripted answer keys about how Trump is a great chief and the "mad liberals". It's these assholes who've stagnated /b/ within the final 12 months and a half.

The power of the web, Lmao, most individuals are senseless drones. The government, corporations, and anarchists all know this. They use social media, and the Internet in Nepal to shape the way you suppose and respond to things. Don't ever assume they don't seem to be trying to make use of this site. Hence the very stuff you complain about ruining your super secret membership. Lurk around and make the affiliation with the threads being posted and what is going on outdoors your mom's basement, because it's actual and it is happening. You're all topic to cognitive biases. I've been right here for like 10 years, b was all the time a flood of shit. Every occasionally we stumble across an incredible gem of lolz or impression. You remember these however neglect all of the shit threads since the start. That's how it's now, that is how it is all the time been. You place a thousand monkeys in entrance of typewriters most of what you get is bananas, traps, and literal shit. Every once in a whilst you get Shakespeare. If you want good content material, create it.

It was slower and as such some actual discussions may develop. Nowadays there are too many high volume threads like generic porn dumps flushing away these threads which need a bit of bit of time. As such the one factor that remained were heated meta discussions (crammed with generic troll posts) about trump, circumcision and gunlaws which by no means lead to something because no person is interested in the precise content.

a pair issues killed /b/: 1. the overall world flip into political correctness. now you can't name somebody fat. You cannot crack jokes at anyone's expense. Even comedians need to be careful what they are saying. 2. Over exposure. Victims of our personal success. Raids, and so on - however in the end, the 2 final nails within the coffin, had been the public rise of Anonymous, and the fappening. It simply drew all the kiddies to this place and they felt the need to radicalize in the only way they know how (by shiposting and performing like edgelords). 3. The era of creatives that had something to do or say right here, grew up. This is akin to the passing of the age of the guitar gods. Kids lately put no effort into any craft, so they may no longer be any Jimmy Page's. In this world, no more youngsters toiling wiith MS paint to make the unimaginable possible, as a result of there are simply no better tools. These days, with filters and apps, every little thing is easy. Kids are lazy and complacent. No effort of sacrifice has been made. Even porn. When I was a child, scoring porn was an enormous achievement. Today, porn is in all places. And in its abundance, it has develop into passe and must be basterdized. So children submit the creamy log threads all the time, and all that bullshit. Its a flood of crap that dilutes any chance of something of advantage occurring right here. I still lurk. But its not the identical. Will never be the identical. Just like the internet will never be the same as it was late 90's early aughts. Sorry children, you might assume you're rocking this shit like gods, but the reality is you're taking part in in the sawdust, ashes and ruins of what was once the tip of the spear. To be this outdated, feels good. I saw it begin, lived by one of the best elements. Now I just need to witness the debasement of it as the children toss around in crap. Sucks to be them.

This is silly. You couldn't call someone a nigger in 2006, either. But /b/ nonetheless did it. The second level has some legitimacy to it, but /b/ was lifeless lengthy earlier than the fappening occurred. 4chan never really got significant enough news media exposure to draw individuals it. What introduced those newfags was folks posting shit like lolcats and mudkipz on Facebook and 4chan getting this popularity of "where every humorous thing on the internet is made." /b/ was never any type of golden era of inventive varieties, both. /b/tards had been dumbfucks. What that they had that this generation doesn't is computers. The rise of the smartphone has utterly killed any curiosity in lurking on an imageboard doing dumb shit for hours on end. People do not "go on the web" anymore as a basic exercise. They get the factor they want instantly and then go do one thing else. Not gonna name you a faggot or anything as a result of that entire "I'm cooler than the remainder of you" perspective was one of the newfag issues that ruined this shithole. I'm not any better than you. But you are still a faggot for being flawed.

You'd arrive and had no concept what to anticipate. Granted, there was still a number of shitposts however organic content material both good, dangerous and horrid was rather more prevalent. For most likely the last 6 or so years the location is only a sequence of generic posts. IG/FB threads, pics you shouldnt share, numerous delicate core porn genres, gay or trap threads, ylyl threads, rekt threads you cant see on the widespread net, apparent bait political threads, god tier threads, and so on etc. You might be by no means stunned by anything anymore and the whole lot is very predictable. I still lurk because every so often one thing genuine occurs but it surely has change into far and few between. I think since this site acquired widespread within the late 00's it has turn into more generic. There are plenty of different sites like it which might be more attention-grabbing however nothing compares to 4c's site visitors. Also, raiding has primarily been criminalized and discouraged. In the early days, this site was littered with cp. It was principally the spider man to any shitpost threads. Its omission from the location is considered one of the only optimistic changes we've seen. Tldr, the location has become normalized and really predictable. 4chan was always shit however not less than you by no means knew what to anticipate and also you all the time got here back for extra.

truly, you do not appear to have very good studying comprehension expertise so I will indulge you a little bit longer. My level about political correctness, is that due to the overarching social stigma of saying something even remotely offensive, has created a new type of offender, as well as a slew of SJW's - all of which its result is expressed on these boards (and elsewhere on the web). Before, nobody cared if you did a raid. And few folks cared if in 2006 (which is already fairly late for internet standards) you known as somebody a nigger (relying on the place and to who you mentioned it). Definitely, nobody got fired for cracking a joke - which at the moment is totally the norm. So something, raids, revenge porn, creeps, and so forth., are almost forbidden. The world is just too uptight - for an actual /b/ to exist. Combined with..... my second level you didn't get. Before, /b/ was not so in the public view. Yes, it started to infuse itself with "outsiders" earlier than 2012, but that is why I mentioned the 2 remaining nails in the coffin. I by no means said that that is when it began to deteriorate. Those were just the final blows to this imageboard. There is no such thing as a claim /b/ was the gold commonplace of something, besides a world with out limit to do and say no matter - and a certain sort of pc consumer, loved that type of atmosphere. And on occasion, something awesome and fun would occur. Not superior in the brand new "I just wish to be validated and want attention" that you live in - superior in the "I just noticed someone stroll on the moon for the first time", that my generation had. Its like watching two rocket boosters land at the same time - I was giddy with joy after i saw it - because to my era, that shit is like magic. I perceive you do not know that since you weren't on IRC servers, you never raided FTP sites (or fserves) for early mp3's, and also you don't know what kind of language, tone or temper existed again then - however to us who did go through it, that is all crap

You retards mistook the rise in politics for a rise in racism because you can't see the apparent truth that racism is primarily brought on by nigger proximity. And the nigger phrase wasn't fucking "ironic", I dont even know the way you can even get the concept that this hive of unhinged degenerates was preventing le ebil racism by sayin the nigger phrase and making it look dumb. Like posting people getting their faces lower off and other unspeakable shit went along with pretending that nigger-ghettos are lovely gardens of Eden solely being stored down by the white mans greed to guard some fucking politicians fake emotions, give me a fucking break. This nihilistic hellhole is racist as a result of it annoys the worst people and since RACISM IS FUCKING TRUE. Race matters, races aren't the fucking identical, the feminist race grifter shit is the dumbest ideology ever to exist, and being around niggers fucking sucks.

4chan was largely a place for ideas that were not acceptable in the mainstream. Keep in mind that 4chan existed during the bush era. When it was socially acceptable to discuss nuking the middle east, 4chan could be a place to oppose that. Now that it's socially acceptable for gay people to exist, 4chan grows to hate gays, principally trannies nowadays. It's a mixture of echo chamber, 4chan not being a monolith of identity and opinion, folks coming and leaving, and free speech.

The word nigger bought thrown at all people, also /pol/ was extra about Nazis and wasn’t about being a basic "i hate niggers" middle aged racist, additionally not in any respect about worshipping Trump or varied right wing media stars like Tucker, for example I never noticed a Rush Limbaugh thread there ever. /b/ was more ironic/absurd, it’s actually gone down the shitter since Trump received elected and a bunch of political underneath-15s and over-30s flocked right here, additionally simply the truth that meme culture unfold to different places like Facebook and Twitter, and that memes (or not less than the idea of memes) even began being taught in school, also that moot left, can’t blame boring MAGA scum for all the things

4chan was racist in a lifeless child joke sort of way, yeah. until we realized our racist jokes made this place a safe haven for respectable racist garbage. that's the catch with darkish humor and irony. they had been so good at being Trojan horses. A racist shithead can fish for fellow travelers by saying a racist joke, and if it does not fly, then they fall back on insisting it was only a joke. So we killed dark edgy humor. We did what they feared. What they didn't assume we'd do. We burned the fucking forest down. Don't be concerned, it'll come again again. Wholesomeness and kindness are never honest for greater than a 12 months or two.

his Anon is appropriate and people seem pissed about it. I got right here simply before Obama got elected and everyone was known as slurs back then. We were infiltrated by a low IQ inhabitants in some unspecified time in the future. "Any neighborhood that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by precise idiots who mistakenly consider that they’re in good firm." - René Descartes

well. I might say general no. Earlier on it was populated by edgelord teenagers who would make racist jokes but were pretty big about racial equality/egalatarinism basically and in thier adult lives would tend to lean fairly left socially when it comes to racial equality and justice. But then the proper SJW crowd began invading 4chan, reddit, other places which led to a hard over correction which led to an anti sjw crowd to begin to kind here that began out with the same mostly libertarian liberal group who saw sjw tradition as being about minority superiority and equity over equality. But then that segment of the group began to get pushed out for the more durable conservative anti sjw crowd. Then when trump won it emboldened the groups situated around the conservative sjw crowd however not neccessarily within it to talk up and be on 4chan extra. So the unironic racists/fascists/alt right/far right/fundamentalist crowd started displaying up increasingly more. So the charges of overt racism kinda skyrocketed. Neo nazi concepts, race realism concepts, racial purity concepts, anti minority concepts. all that form of stuff started changing into more widespread options here.

you are stuffed with shit. Early 4chan was actually all pedos and loli anime. All of it. The ADTRW refugees folks like kirtaner. The flood of people to 4chan started round 05-06, when the moderation at SA acquired horrific and heavy handed, and it started driving folks out in droves. Four chan went from just about straight pedos to comedy posting virtually instantly, althought there were frequent LS posting outbreaks and constant JB threads up. The dam really broke fully although round 08-10. Sites like SA have been complete carebear garbage by then and everybody left, this plus the media hysteria and smart phones led to an enormous influx of shit posters and normies. But yeah, "you have been there" in 06 and 07.

My understanding was no it wasn't at all times racist. I feel everyone confirmed up being... as neutral as a human will be given his life experiences. Everyone had their dose of indoctrination. But then people spoke about what they really thought. Some anons were extra sensible then others, some japanese anons have been actually good at posting tid bits of data. The way it is right this moment is just the most honest end result folks might presumably have. If 4chan is racist then actuality is racist.

I'm with you, but, unfortunately, it won't go to the "glory days". We need moderation assist to do this, and the mods are faggots. Hiro also needs to make this site profitable, so clearly he desires extra users, not much less customers. Unless you convice Hiro to ban cancer, ban newfags, ban HTTP referrers from Reddit, Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook and make frequent CSS hacks, 4chan won't go to "the glory days".

Here's one, it isn't an excellent one Overall though, in 2005 there have been so many extra folks prepared to be a community and to play games together and make OC Before 2006 it was many things, 2005 they had been making a number of "memes" before memes had been the most cancers that they're known by now. It was only a extra productive neighborhood, after Habbo in 06 the users started really hating the positioning and it died really shortly that yr. It was such a strong community again then. Lots of people suppose Habbo was the primary raid nevertheless it was actually in 2005 when /b/ raided the "emo" "cutting yourselves" discussion board. That was hilarious however most individuals do not remember it.

Ugh, the way folks talked again then is so obnoxious. Makes me appreciate the current 4chan more because whereas we nonetheless have a variety of meme spam, a minimum of it's not each. fucking. put up. like it was back then with everyone talking like a 13 yr previous scene kid with their "oh noes" and "mah harbl." I've talked to the person who discovered that the password was right there within the supply code. It's humorous that he's one of many few people there that isn't screeching like a monkey. Ironically he's one of the vital politically appropriate people I know, which simply goes to point out you that the "old guard" is not remotely what individuals imagined it to be. It's folks who have matured and adopted the so-called "tumblr mentality" that everyone appears to hate. Yes, the individuals you complain about are the identical people who have been posting on 4chan all these years ago. And you've got the gall to assert that "solely newfags would think this manner or that approach."

There are still threads the place persons are keen to have fun and make OC. They're just more durable to search out as a result of lately it's extra about being edgy and attempting to be superior to other users, and sjw vs /pol/ wars than about having enjoyable and making OC and remix tradition. As of late I can only bear to discuss some anime on this site and otherwise only post or lurk in the specialized slow boards like /ck/ and /ic/, that are for the most half unaffected by the retarded tradition wars of the bigger boards. for different stuff I'm going to smaller imageboard web sites, not 8ch which is most cancers, however specialised around a certain show, genre or whatever, they're quite sluggish but at the least the few responses you get, oftentimes days apart, are typically good.

Today's memes are imply-spirited and smug in comparison with 4chan's older, extra self-relativizing (and truly funny!) catchphrases. Literally and tbhfam are literally just there to get on different people's nerves. Based is a gamergate thing. Cringe and edgy are literally from r/cringe. This and kek are overused by brainless retards who don't have anything to contribute to the thread (it's literally like an upvote). Toxic is literally a tumblr meme. Ugh was to mock the man I responded too. It does not shock me that these memes are preferred by at present's generation, since it defines who they're: a bunch of pretentious, pseudo-intellectual, holier-than-thou smartphone addicts. I do know as a result of I'm literally a meme specialist tbhqhwy famalam.

I still remember it as enjoyable and dynamic as late as 2010. Problem I feel is that raids (which, yes, have always been banned) do too much to construct and maintain site solidarity, and as the moderation of them has tightened, the place doesn't have that shared expertise to unify it anymore. GG could have grow to be something, however instead /pol/ and /r9k/ took it over, turned the entire thing into a cancer, and made us look like fools to the remainder of the web. Sad, ain't it?

I think that you must let your longing for an idealized model of an internet site because it was over a decade in the past now go. You aren't going to enhance 4chan in any respect. You're higher off beginning your individual imageboard (which is able to fail 99% of the time) and telling your friends about it if you want to have a fun shut knit community, or alternatively use /s4s/ such as you already do. The web is going to keep changing whether you prefer it or not and you may by no means recapture what it was like. Also, I have not seen people on right here get this labored up over reddit in a very long time.

4chan and chans are executed. It's stale. The next "4chan" goes to rise from the ashes organically in a radically completely different format. Who anticipated a shitty weaboo knock-off of a Japanese anime and porn "imageboard" to take off but it did. It'll in all probability be rather more nameless and is likely going to spawn someplace odd like within a pedo community on TOR. You cannot drive a motion. If the sentiment is there, it will occur.

The thing I miss most about the outdated web is the carefree nature of it. Even on sites where you have to register, no person sees your face, nobody knows your title, so placing out one thing that is a little bit easy or silly or childish or has bright colors is fine, and even fun. The web is a place where you don't should entrance or pretend to look cool, you can just be yourself and take a look at out your personal humor. Even if you happen to make a dumb joke it's going to 404 soon and you may strive once more. I can not help however suppose that people are holding back as of late.

I feel you. I miss the wonder of it. My 12 12 months outdated mind on right here was fucking amazed every time a new type of thread was made, a brand new advice canine, or some new shitty newgrounds animation. I had my uncle's hand-me-down laptop and was too stupid to make anything myself, so I'd sit and surprise who these geniuses are that know the best way to "edit footage" and "use flash". And such as you said, it was carefree and nameless. People made funny internet movies just for the sake of being funny, not so they could tell their YouTube subscribers that the algorithm sucked and they were being "robbed" of their revenue. I'm actually simply venting once more and don't have a very good path to go together with this, however god damn I miss when the web was the wild facet of the world, where in case you were a computer-savvy adolescent faggot, you might find a method to save some boobs to a flash drive and present your pals. Glad I grew up doing that tbh. I'm glad I did that as an alternative of trading kiks and having unlimited porn on my iPhone at age 12. Not that it's not okay, and it ain't the kiddo's faults. I'm simply glad i loved the stupid simple instances of interwebs

.

For /b/ particularly: Less porn, extra ylyl threads, and much more actually random stuff. Even pondering back to around 2014, I had much more enjoyable in /b/ than I do now. I began a cult with some people I met on right here about praising Ultralord from Jimmy Neutron, got round 40 followers on Twitter and Reddit and wrote a brief Ultrabible with a couple of those guys before it died out a 12 months or two later. I watched a number of livestreams of youngsters contemplating suicide earlier than pussying out. At the same time as soon as 2015, I remember some dude on /b/ saying that he would mild firecrackers at a terrorist attack memorial in France, and seeing articles about it on-line the next day. All I've gotten from /b/ in the past couple years has been the occasional humorous greentext and plenty of loli/furry shit that I did not need to see in the primary place. Modern /b/ is not horrible however it is undoubtedly gone downhill. Hopefully it should repair itself and go back to the old ways however I'm form of doubting it, sadly.
